This beautiful chair from Snedkergaarden is designed by Arne Vodder. It's perfect for a nook where you can sit and enjoy life with a hot cup of coffee or a good book or as a centerpiece in combination with the BO90 sofa.

The chair was designed by Arne Vodder, a Danish furniture designer who was born in 1926 and died in 2009. He is known as one of the most influential designers from the Danish modernist movement that emerged in the mid-20th century. Vodder was a student of Finn Juhl and his style was characterized by the same simplicity, functionality and use of natural materials like wood.

His designs were often elegant, timeless and known for their soft lines and organic shapes and his furniture is today highly sought after on the international market, especially his sideboards, dressers and chairs.

Arne Vodder has collaborated with various furniture manufacturers over the years and we at Snedkergaarden are particularly proud of the collaboration and take great care with every piece of furniture.

Vodder's furniture was widely exported, especially to the US, where it became popular in office and residential interiors in the 1960s and 70s. Today, Arne Vodder's work is considered an important part of Danish design heritage and a representative of the timeless Scandinavian aesthetic.

Prices depend on the choice of wood species, surface treatment and choice of upholstery.

Arne Vodder

Arne Vodder (1926 - 2009) is a Danish architect and designer who is considered one of the most influential Scandinavian furniture designers.

Arne Vodder created timeless and functional furniture with a distinctive attention to detail, color and materials. His quiet demeanor and humility contributed to him not achieving the same fame in his lifetime as his mentor and friend Finn Juhl. In recent years, both the Danish and international furniture scene have taken notice of his designs, which are characterized by a unique blend of simplicity and elegance. Vodder trained as a carpenter and architect, working particularly with organic forms and exclusive woods such as rosewood and teak.
