MEET THE DESIGNERS
Mads K. Johansen
With a background as a carpenter, Mads K. Johansen (1978-2014) had a great passion for furniture and wood design.
He graduated as a designer at the Danish Design School and Helsinki University of Art and Design. Since graduating in 2009, he has designed for several renowned companies and been awarded numerous international prizes and scholarships.
“For me, it’s important that the furniture is functional and harmonious. That the details give the furniture the character that you experience when you see and touch it. It’s important to me that there is a harmonious expression in the furniture. The material and design must be united so that the furniture has a naturalness. When this is done successfully and with high quality craftsmanship, you have a good and long-lasting piece of furniture.”
