The MATZ table, designed by Mads K. Johansen, is a beautiful example of how inspiration from architectural elements can be translated into furniture design.
During a train ride under the Vejlefjord Bridge, he was captivated by the bridge's curved structures, which inspired him to create the table's distinctive shape. The curved milling along the edge of the tabletop contributes to the 40 mm thick board appearing lighter and more elegant than its thickness would otherwise suggest.
One of the most unique features of the MATZ table is the corner joint.
Mads K. Johansen, in collaboration with Snedkergaarden, developed a custom-made bracket that ensures that the table not only looks refined, but is also extremely stable. This makes the table robust and suitable for both everyday use and more formal occasions.
The design allows for flexibility in shape and size as the table is available in rectangular, oval or round versions, making it versatile and suitable for different room types and layouts.
The table combines aesthetics and functionality, making it a timeless piece of furniture that can be a central element in any home.
Prices depend on the choice of wood species and surface treatment.

"For me, it's important that the furniture is functional and harmonious. That the details give the furniture the character that is experienced when you see and touch it. It's important to me that there is a harmonious expression in the furniture. The material and design must be united so that the furniture has a naturalness. When this is done successfully and with high quality craftsmanship, you have a good and long-lasting piece of furniture."
